Entering wine judging contests can be a tricky, anxious exercise filled with uncertainty and sometimes disappointment. Some do it, others don't as a matter of principle. Send the samples and wait. Sometimes you don't hear back. Sometimes you miss a deadline (oops). Sometimes you get surprised and we were pleasantly so as the new kid on the block at the 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition representing ess eff wines.
It's with pleasure that we can announce that our first entry to the competition of over 6,800 individual wine entries resulted in TWO SILVER winners. And, yes, that many were tasted BLIND amongst their peer groups! we made the cut with the following wines in these categories:

2016 Teldeschi Vineyard Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley: $38
A lovely, food friendly Zinfandel that pairs with many dishes but can be drank alone (or with someone, if you prefer!)
92% Zinfandel and 8% Petite Sirah; 14.70% Alc.
2017 Keller Estate Pinot Noir Petaluma Gap: $42
A new AVA, but same great vineyard and wine. A medium bodied pinot from Clone 115, which produces a nice floral bouquet, juicy, ripe fruit and an earthy background to round out the wine.
